When a friend came for a visit and had a feel of the herbwalk, he immediately decided to sponsor his daughter's school excursion tour stopover at Herbwalk.

For our first secondary school herbwalk we had an 45 minutes introduction to Traditional Malay Medicine and our research activities followed by herbwalk in the garden.

However, we have decided to add more to the walk than just the garden.

The Programme:

Starts at 8:30 am and ends at 10:30 am

A - Breakfast/Hi-Tea - 30 minutes
Breakfast/Hi-tea is served on the Balai and students will sit cross-legged on the floor to experience the traditional kampong style which not many remembers today. Food served will be those consumed by a Malay family traditionally for breakfast/hi-tea.

B - Introduction to Traditional Malay Medicine - 15 min
Dr. Ghani will introduce the students to the world of Traditional Malay Medicine and the importance of understanding the principles of formulations and the urgency of preserving and conserving our medicinal heritage.

C - Herbwalk in my Garden - 30 minutes
Dr. Ghani will introduce the students to the world of Plants and the wonders that lies within. Students will be taken around the grounds of Herbwalk to showcase some of the more than 600 different plants. They will also be introduced to the mangrove forest which happens to be the backyard of Herbwalk.

D - Hands on clay at Abang Adil's Pottery work - 30 minutes
Students will be given time to spend with Abang Adil and learn about his pottery work. He may even allow them to get their hands dirty toying with his lump of clay.

RATE : RM 15.00 per student

Available : By appointment

Attire : School uniform looks very nice on students. A symbol of pride, discipline and honour.

Minimum: 20 students

Maximum : 40 students

Languages: Arabic, English, Indonesian, Japanese and Malay

Rate Includes: Breakfast/Hi-Tea plus mineral water to take along while on herbwalk.
